Faith & Service
As a Catholic school, Bishop McNamara is a values based community. Schoolwide Masses are held monthly and students are able to assist through lectoring, serving. cantering, ushering and greeting.
Retreat Programs
All students at McNamara attend a class retreat each year. These retreats are all day events. They provide a variety of activities to engage the students in a fresh look at their values and beliefs.
Kairos Retreats
Juniors and Seniors may take advantage of this program. Kairos – meaning “God’s Time”, provides a 3 day retreat experience hat offers a combination of prayer, reflection and personal witness. Many Bishop McNamara students consider their Kairos experience to be the most meaningful of their high school career. Kairos “Fourth Days” are a series of on-going Sunday evening get-togethers that keep the spirit of this special program.
Service Hours
All students at Bishop McNamara are required to perform a yearly minimum of 15 hours of service to others.
Why Mandatory Service Hours?
Service to others is God’s love made visible. Service promotes a sense of responsibility, exposes students to new skills, rewards time well spent with a sense of accomplishment and provides a way to meet and make new friends.
